Viziware at the Startup Village Conference

5 June 2013

Computer Vision Systems was among the finalists of the Innovation Technology Startup Contest at the Startup Village Conference. The first annual Russia-wide conference of entrepreneurs and innovators took place on 27-28 May at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre.

Startup Village is the largest startup conference in Russia, where innovators could tell about their ideas and demonstrate their achievements to Russian and international investors, venture funds, and large technological companies, as well as attend workshops and lectures and come into direct contact with the legends of technological entrepreneurship.

After passing strict professional screening Computer Vision Systems came in the top 190 Russian and foreign startups and could announce its new front-runner product line, Viziware, in all formats provided for by the conference programme. The technology for creating interactive advertising and collecting statistics on its effectiveness was presented by Elena Kalashnikova at the startup pitch session “More than Moore” in the information technology pavilion. The panel of expert judges recognized the innovation and potential of the design by awarding the company second place at the session and by presenting it with a prize from the event partner Intel Capital – an Intel Ultrabook. At the same time as the pitch sessions, an exhibit of the best designs of the Innovation Centre residents called “Made in Skolkovo” took place at the Hypercube. The Viziware display was a large screen with interactive content, which the exhibit attendees could control by gestures. The number of those who wanted to do so never slacked; the display visitors included both startup colleagues and investors who recognized the opportunities provided by the technology. And the visitors were not only interested in the interactivity, but in the scientific basis of the design as well.

Elena Kalashnikova, PR Director of Computer Vision Systems: “Participating in Startup Village assured us once again, that we are moving in the right direction. Interactive advertisement is attractive both to the end-consumer and to investors who realise that the future belongs to such technologies. We are grateful to Skolkovo and to the conference partners who provided such an excellent environment for face-to-face contact with colleagues and potential partners, and who rated our design so highly.
