Computer Vision Systems Moves to "Skolkovo Super League" Finals
15 September 2014
Computer Vision Systems - the developer of gesture recognition technology - has passed the rigorous selection process overseen by the competition jury and will participate in the Skolkovo Super League acceleration program. Of the many companies that entered the competition, only twelve residents of the Skolkovo IT cluster made it to the Super League Finals. These are residents with projects in IT, telecommunications and related technologies.
To participate in the Super League Final, the Skolkovo team evaluated startups according to the following criteria:
- Competitive advantages of the product
- Quality of the project’s business model
- Ability of the team to undertake the project
- Feasibility of the project within the required parameters
- Technological innovation
Acceleration program organizers foresaw that an intensive period of training aimed at the development of projects and in the rules of the international market would be needed. This required that the startups work closely with the best mentors from the US and Europe, and also with partners of the major accelerator “Global Mass Challenge.” These young Russian entrepreneurs were encouraged to adopt the know-how of their Western mentors who are experienced in the promotion of such projects. In this way they would learn the finer points of product presentation to potential investors or clients and get acquainted with the peculiarities of sales and marketing approaches in different countries.
From September 8th to 11th the first stage of the Super League consisted of a series of seminars on commercialization for Skolkovo IT cluster participants and residents of the API Moscow accelerator. During the intense and diversified program, participants presented their projects to Western mentors, responded to mentor questions and received expert advice. In the final outcome Computer Vision Systems received first place for their speech, in which Vladimir Ufnarovsky, CEO of Computer Vision Systems, spoke about interactive advertising and how his company is currently following up on the many opportunities that exist using this technology.
The Computer Vision Systems team is currently in preparation for the coming stages of the Skolkovo Super League. This includes online communication with mentors, demo day at the “Open Innovation” forum and also road shows in the United States.
Computer Vision Systems Business Development Manager Katherina Ufnarovskaya said, "We are very proud that our design has been so highly praised by the Skolkovo panel of experts, and is included among the participants in the Super League. These experienced specialists are confident that our product can do very well in the United States and Europe. We won’t waste any time preparing for these upcoming events, taking into account all the recommendations of our top-notched mentors. We’d also like to say thank you to the Skolkovo organization for the dynamic leadership that is helping our company to grow. We are getting such valuable strategic advice on how to organize international sales, and also how to get established with potential investors and customers."
